Trump Force One has become the first aircraft to arrive at the newly renamed President Donald J. Trump International Airport in West Palm Beach, Florida, marking a symbolic first movement for the airport now carrying the president’s name.
The Boeing 757-200, widely known as Trump Force One, touched down at 5:01 AM local time on Thursday, July 9, 2026, according to Simple Flying. The arrival came just hours after the Federal Aviation Administration changed the airport’s identifier from PBI to DJT.
The airport was formerly known as Palm Beach International Airport and has long served as the home base for Trump’s private 757, registered N757AF. The field is also close to Mar-a-Lago, giving the aircraft’s first arrival under the new designation a clear connection to the airport’s new name.
For travelers, the change will not be fully visible immediately. The FAA and flight-planning identifier has shifted to DJT, but the IATA code passengers see when booking tickets, checking bags and reading boarding passes will continue to show PBI until the transition is completed in mid-August.
That creates a short period where aviation systems and passenger systems tell slightly different stories. Pilots, dispatchers and air traffic systems may use DJT, while most travelers will still search for West Palm Beach under PBI until airlines and booking platforms complete the update.
Trump was not reported to be onboard the aircraft for the first arrival. While he is serving as president, official travel is handled through Air Force One and the presidential airlift fleet, leaving the privately owned 757 available for family, aides and other Trump Organization use.
The arrival is more than a routine private jet movement because airport codes carry real operational meaning. They shape flight plans, airport databases, airline schedules and passenger recognition. In this case, the first landing by Trump Force One gave the renaming an immediate aviation headline before the passenger-facing transition is complete.
