Aviation journalism depends heavily on photography, much of it taken by enthusiasts, crews and manufacturers rather than by staff photographers. This page explains who owns what on this site, how we credit images, and how to get in touch if you believe your work has been used incorrectly.

All original text, headlines, graphics, data compilations and site design on youraviationnews.com are the copyright of the publisher unless stated otherwise. You are welcome to link to our articles and to quote a short extract with clear attribution and a link back to the original page. Republishing a full article, or a substantial part of one, requires written permission.

How we use photography

Images on this site fall into one of the following categories, and we aim to make clear which applies in the caption or credit line:

  • material supplied by an airline, airport, manufacturer or agency for editorial use;
  • work published under a Creative Commons or similar licence, credited to the photographer with the licence named;
  • public domain material, including imagery released by government and military public affairs offices;
  • images licensed from a stock agency or an individual photographer;
  • material supplied to us directly by a reader or contributor with permission to publish.

Every image should carry a credit. Where a credit is missing or wrong, that is an oversight and we want to fix it — please tell us.

If you own an image we have used

Email legal@youraviationnews.com with the article link, the image concerned and evidence that you are the rights holder. Tell us which outcome you want: a corrected credit, a link to your portfolio, a retrospective licence, or removal of the image. We treat these messages as a priority and will normally respond within two working days. Requests to remove an image are acted on promptly while we look into ownership; we do not require a formal legal notice first.

Licensing and syndication

If you would like to republish an article, translate one, or license our content for a newsletter, intranet, briefing or teaching material, write to legal@youraviationnews.com with what you need, where it will appear and for how long. Reasonable non-commercial and educational requests are usually granted at no charge.

Automated collection and AI training

We do not grant permission for our content to be scraped, mirrored or used to train machine learning models. Commercial reuse of that kind requires a licence, and enquiries are welcome at the address above.

Trademarks

Airline, airport, manufacturer and government names, liveries and logos referred to on this site belong to their respective owners and are used for identification and editorial comment only. Their appearance does not imply any endorsement of, or affiliation with, YourAviationNews.
